Vivedus is a Learning Activation Model. It differs from other LAMs, like Universal Design for Learning and Dimensions of Learning in that it is specifically designed to activate creative intelligence.
Central to the Vivedus Model are dispositions that are necessary for the activation of creative intelligence, dispositions like, risk taking, dealing with ambiguity and empathy. Each of these evidence-based dispositions are supported by pedagogies and assessment tools that teachers can use in the classroom to ensure that they are teaching creatively and teaching for creativity.
Another fundamental difference between the Vivedus Learning Activation Model and other models is the Vivedus Platform. The implementation of other really good Learning Activation Models has either been very expensive or haphazard. To implement Universal Design for Learning for example, you typically invite an expert into a school for a day or two professional development. A school then must either rely on every teacher’s goodwill to change their practice and align to the new Model and/or spend continual money on professional development. Even with continued professional development how can a principal ever be sure that every teacher across the school is aligned to the Universal Design for Learning way? While not a Learning Activation Model, International Baccalaureate mandates the continued professional development of teachers of the program to ensure alignment and consistency. This is very expensive. The Vivedus Platform deals with all these issues.
To make the implementation of the Vivedus Learning Activation Model easy for schools Vivedus has put all the planning tools, pedagogies, assessment tools, professional development assets, feedback tools and collaboration tools onto a digital, AI-enabled platform. The Platform has been designed to deliver the professional development to change a teacher’s activity in the classroom so they are teaching for creative intelligence.
With the Platform school leaders can be confident that there is consistent alignment across the entire school and there is clear impact on student learning without continual expensive and ineffective external professional development programs. And if there isn’t alignment, the principal can pinpoint where and what specific support needs to be put into place to help those teachers be the best they can be for the students in their care.
The Platform has been built by teachers for teachers. Teachers are keenly aware of the pressures the profession is facing. We have been incredibly mindful of the huge increase in administrative workload on teachers over the past few years causing many to lose sight of just why they became a teacher in the first place. The Platform has been designed to significantly reduce those administrative tasks, particularly around NCCD, and put the joy back into teaching.
We have been testing the Platform with teachers to ensure it meets their needs and supports them professionally. This is some of the feedback we have been receiving from those teachers:
“The platform is an intuitive and responsive planning tool which seamlessly interweaves curriculum objectives, creative thinking strategies, pedagogical approaches, differentiated practice and resourcing. It fosters not just alignment and validity in units of work but also future focused, innovative and collaborative approaches to enhance teaching, learning and assessment in the classroom. I can see the opportunity to save time for teachers but also significantly improve the quality of planning for improved student outcomes and engagement. The process supports ongoing reflective practice and enhancement in the quality of teaching experiences in the classroom” (Kathleen, Head of Department).
“Having everything from curriculum goals to learning objectives in one easy to navigate, drag-and-drop interface will save a lot of time when planning units of work . The AI tool was very effective in generating suggested learning experiences and was also helpful in helping me develop my own ideas” (Warren, secondary teacher).
“The Vivedus Learning Activation model allows Schools and teachers to seamlessly plan, deliver and assess a broad range of learning that is fit for our rapidly changing world. The focus on developing and assessing creativity is a core strength of the model. This platform has the ability to transform the education narrative across a wide variety of schools. We know that what gets measured is what gets done in Schools. We finally have the ability to measure the skills that we know that our students will need to thrive in the A.I era” (Alex, Head of Department State Education).
As an educator who has had to write a lot of curriculum documents, the Vivedus Platform revolutionises and simplifies curriculum planning. It streamlines the entire process, ensuring you can easily meet curriculum and NCCD requirements while still allowing for the creation and personalisation of content. With Vivedus, teachers save time, making it simpler to develop engaging and tailored learning experiences for students and allow more time for the core business of teaching. The added bonus of being able to measure success in a variety of ways, and differentiate, will allow for more inclusive planning and implementation. The most exciting part, in my opinion are the visuals that show cross curricular integration (Meg, Principal).
Wow! I was really impressed by the Vivedus Platform. This approach to teaching and learning would help me seamlessly integrate curriculum content and creativity dispositions into my daily practice. It’s a game-changer for both teachers and students. I love how the platform supports deep conceptual learning by guiding students through phases of possibility thinking. They still master the basics of the content, but they also have significant agency in showcasing what they’ve learned using creative applications.
The platform’s bank of innovative pedagogies would be incredibly helpful for building activities that enhance creativity and engagement in my classroom.
One of the biggest challenges I face as a teacher is managing all the paperwork associated with planning and reporting for NSSAB audits and NCCD requirements. The embedded AI helps to guide me through the planning process, and I can easily apply, adjust, and document strategies for differentiation and students on support plans with just a few clicks, saving me hours of work. This extra time would allow me to focus more on creative planning and developing resources that truly support student learning (Alice, Teacher).
Vivedus is about inspiring, infusing life and vibrancy, and surpassing creativity and learning. The Vivedus Platform supports teachers to bring colour into their students learning and bring the joy back to teaching.
