We have further professional development events scheduled in March (two in Brisbane and one in Sydney) and again in June (North Queensland).
Over the Christmas break the Development team took in all the feedback from our first group of teachers, making the Platform even better than it was. It is now a very sophisticated piece of software that uses artificial intelligence to support the professional growth of the user.
To confirm the contract with Albany Creek State High School the Vivedus Platform needs to be assessed by the Australian and New Zealand governments’ Safer Technologies for (4) Schools framework (ST4S). This is a lengthy process any software company wanting to trade with education to have in place rigorous and robust systems and policies to ensure any data, particularly pertaining to student data, is secure. The Development team are currently working on this submission. Once completed, Vivedus will be an approved provider for all schools (government, independent and Catholic) across Australia and New Zealand. We are aiming to have the submission in by mid-March with the assessment to take between three and six months.
The Board of Directors have written to the Queensland Minister for Education, seeking a meeting with him. The Liberal government’s priority for education during this term is to:
- empower principals, teachers and school communities to deliver improved educational outcomes for Queensland students;
- implement strategies to deliver improved NAPLAN results for Queensland students;
- reduce the administrative burden being placed on teachers to allow them more time to focus on classroom teaching; and,
- ensure schools are adequately resourced and empowered to maintain strong behavioural standards in Queensland’s schools.
Vivedus is a solution for the first three of the government’s four priorities for Queensland Schools. We are hoping that the Minister supports our request to offer a government primary school in his electorate as a pilot for Vivedus.
We began a major marketing campaign at the start of February titled, “What teachers are saying (about Vivedus)”. Using video footage from the two days of professional development with Albany Creek State High School, Omni Academies of Learning and a school from New Zealand, we created a suite of videos of teachers responses to the Vivedus approach to learning and Platform. A video is being released each week on three social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook) using geo-targeted marketing tactics. You can view those videos here: https://www.vivedus.com/about/endorsements
We hope to have news of new partner schools in next month’s update.
